Movies or Television Shows

One of the most of the most popular things that everyone in America does is watch television and movies, but which is better? This could be a very hard decision for so many of you out there, but maybe this final blog post will help you choose, what you like better.

Movies and television shows are similar in many ways, but that differences could be what make or break your decision.

Movies display a story that is summed up in a two hour sitting. While on the other hand the television show, continues going for as long as it wants to continue playing. If you are a short, let’s figure out the plot, climax, and conclusion all in one sitting, then obviously a movie is for you. However if you like an ongoing dramatic show that has many twists and turns then a television show is what is for you. Sometimes I think that both television shows and movies could be either shorter or longer, but that is just my personal preference. I also feel like some movie need to be longer to get the full idea of the movie across, some end dramatically, and keep the audience wanting more, which is good for the producers to make more money on another film, but terrible for the viewers who can’t wait to see the next part of the story. Then on the other side, some television shows just drag out the plot way too far and need to just end the show already because it’s boring and nothing else to show in the story.

Do you like long or short, this is my next question because if you don’t like sitting in one place for an extended amount of time then you should probably go more for the television category, but if you like to watch a whole story in one sitting, then movies are the way to go.

My next point covers whether you like to see an actor over and over again. We see actors in many movies, that’s their job, but if you tend to get tired of just watching one actor over and over again, you might not want to start a television series. However if you like getting super attached to actors television shows are for you! This could be good or bad, because when you get attached to one character or show, you start to feel their emotions also, so when the actor is replaced or the show ends, it is very hard for you to take.

In conclusion, I can’t decide for you, if you like either movies or television show, and I certainly am not telling you that, you can only like one or the other!

What does music mean to YOU?

What does music mean for you? Does it relax you, make you excited? Or could it tell you things about yourself that you may not have already known? Music can influence your life in many ways, and can mean a lot to you. I know that music is very important in my life.

            

Music could be a way that you relate yourself to the world around you and to relate to other people. You can meet so many new people just by the different types of music you listen to, whether it be country, rap, or indie, you could meet and make so many new friends. For example at concerts, clubs, or just hearing the music that you like somewhere and talking with the person listening to it. Music really can control are lives, in some ways it is good but in other ways it could be bad, so be careful who, what, and where you listen to music.

         

   Music is a great way to express yourself. You can learn a lot about yourself just by what kind of music you listen to. Whatever type of music you like, that is you choice and preference, and that right there makes you different from everybody else. If you make or play music that is yet another way to express yourself. I used to play the violin, and I know for me I liked knowing that I was creating some kind of beautiful art, just by bringing different music notes together. Each separate note, is garbage, but when your mesh it all together you make something amazing.

Music maybe the thing that keeps you from being lonely, once you put those two little head phones into your ears, the music takes you to a whole new world, that is all yours. You can have so many adventures in this musical world, where you are never alone.

With music you can never be bored. There are so many different genres of music, with so much music out there, that even if you tried you would never be able to thoroughly listen to every single piece. Even if you were able to there is so much music coming out every single day, which can keep listening to music enjoying and exciting. There are so many artists, and aspiring artists out in the world, that you will never get bored.

Overall the music world is a huge world, and you can always find some kind of music that will excite, inspiring, or even music that will allow you to find yourself or express yourself. 

The role of music in a movie

Everyone loves some kind of music genre or movie, so how does the music affect movies. In movies, music is everything. The most important part of music in movies is the different moods that music sets for us.

The way that the producer of the movie wants us to feel about the movie is directly related to the mood and tone of the movie, this aspect of the movie, is portrayed through the music. If the director wants us to feel sad for a character, then they will play sad music, which is appropriate for the scene in the movie. Or if the director what to make the viewer’s feel excited or pumped up for the next scene in the movie, the director will play music that makes us excited to see the next scene of the movie. Without music there would be no sounds other that the characters talking, and no matter how good an actor is, they need sound effects and music, to be dramatic, and to get their feelings, and emotions across to the audience.

This leads me to my next point, that without music the movie would be boring, and have no emotion or action. Without the music running in the background, we would be exposed to the really bad acting of some actors and actresses. No offense to the actors, but the music really does make the movie ten times better. Even in the earliest movies, such as silent films, the only noise was the music and sound effects, which made those movies enjoyable. We didn’t have actors reading lines, we just had actors acting out what they were doing, and the music set the mood of the movie. If something bad happened in the movie, instead of the actor saying that something bad happened, we listen to the bad part of the movie going on.

One of the best examples of how music affects the movie the most is in horror films. Without the scary music the film wouldn’t be scary anymore. We get the nervousness and the adrenaline from the music before the actual scary thing happens. The music that leads up to the scary part of the movie, just makes the scene scarier because you don’t know when the event is going to happen.

            

Overall music in a movie just adds more emotion and sets the mood of the film. Without music we would have some very boring movies. 

Rebellion Movies

Teenagers’ rebelling has been a well-known concept among teens and society for a very long time. Teenagers always want to find a way that they can separate themselves from their parents and make something of themselves in the real world. In the past few years there has been a lot of movies and books portraying teenagers rebelling against society, many of these movies becoming very popular among the teenagers today.

One of the most influential movies and has got so much continual praise from society has been the Hunger Games saga. This movie was the first one that was solely focusing on teenagers rebelling against what they thought was wrong. Sure there were many other movies before the Hunger Games that showed rebellion, but the Hunger Games was one of the first to truly show what rebellion could do for our world. When children and teenagers saw people there are fighting for what they believed in they felt like they could do the same type of thing. (Maybe not as in the most deadly kind of way), but children finally believed that they could make a difference in life.

This is why I believe The Hunger Games and Divergent were such successful movies among teenagers, they felt that closeness, of rebelling and not wanting to do what their parents, or society told them to do anymore.

I feel if Hollywood continues to produce movies like The Hunger Games, and Divergent, we may even see a change in our society, with more teenagers and children speaking out for what they believe in. I don’t know if this is a good or bad thing, but either way it will change our society. We have always had rebelling among teenagers, but with this new change in the media, movies, books, and everything in our everyday lives, I see a dramatic change coming for the United States.

Overall movies like The Hunger Games and Divergent are changing children and teenagers in more ways than anyone can imagine, and in a short we could have a rebellion on our hands in the United States any time now.

Top 5 Movies 2014 Contined...

Continued list of the top five movies that I want to see in 2014. They should all be a sight to see, if I do say so myself!

3. The Other Woman: The Other Woman is probably the movie that I want to see the most, if you have read any of my other blog posts; you will probably notice that I am a fan of romance movies, and movies with a lot of drama. So when I was introduced to The Other Woman, I just knew that I needed to see it! The Other Women is about how a man is cheating on three women at the same time (Cameron Diaz, Kate Upton, and Leslie Mann). When these three women find out about the affair that the married man has been having, the women team up to take the loser down, once and for all.

I think that this movie is going to be so hilarious, from all the tricks, and schemes that the three ladies come up with. I think that this movie shows the real strength of women, because of how they take care of the situation, and don’t let this unfortunate event bring them all down. If you are in for a real laugh, or want to see a great romance movie, that isn’t like any other, I would definitely recommend going to see The Other Woman.

4.     Divergent: Divergent is a fast growing movie that has received tremendous amount of support from its viewers, everyone who has seen the movie, has said its amazing, and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Divergent is like the Hunger Games in the sense that it is in a made up, futuristic society, where everything is done differently. I kind of think of the society in Divergent as, like in some countries, where the government tells you what job you are going to do and how to live your life. This is similar in Divergent because in that society you take an aptitude test to see what type of job you will go into. The problem is when you are good at every area you are targeted by the government, this is where the main character (Shailene Woodley, and Theo James) come into the picture.

Whether it be the action packed plot or the similarities between Divergent and the Hunger Games, I’m sure that Divergent will have a great turn out, and is sure to make everyone who has seen the movie or read the book want more, leaving Divergent as the next great movie, with many awards for its future. 

5. The Fault in Our Stars: Crazy enough this movie also stars Shailene Woodley. The Fault in Our Stars is about a teenage couple who meet in a cancer support group; the movie goes through the crazy adventure of how love sweeps them up and takes them on a journey. Ending with a heart wrenching ending that will leave you speechless.

Everyone who has read The Fault in our Stars says that the book is phenomenal, and that the movie will most likely be just as amazing. But be prepared to be very emotional, as this movie will take you on an emotional roller coaster! Make sure you have Kleenex’s nearby, because you will most definitely need them!

TOP 5 MOVIES OF 2014

Top Five Movies I want to see:

2014 has started out with a bang with all of the new movies being made; you would think that with this many movies being produced that none of them would be very good, but in most cases this statement is the exact opposite. Many of the new movies look fantastic, and I am very intrigued to watch them eventually.

1.  Neighbors:  Neighbors stars Zac Efron, Seth Rogan, and Dave Franco. If these three people don’t make you want to see the movie already, then I don’t know what will! Anyways Neighbors is about  the one-upmanship of two neighbors. One being a couple with a newly born baby, (Seth Rogan, and Rose Bryne), and a fraternity lead by Teddy Sanders, (Zac Efron). The new parents think this new living arrangement is all fine, and actually look forward to having these new neighbors until a few wild, out of control parties later. Now all the parents want is a good night sleep, while the fraternity only wants to party. So who will win this turf war, you will have to watch and find out yourself.

I think that this movie is going to be hilarious, and a movie that nobody is going to want to miss or forget. Neighbors came out in theaters yesterday, and I bet that many people will be flocking to the theaters to see this outrageous movie for the first time; I know I can’t wait to see it!

2.  The Spiderman 2: I have always been a huge fan of superhero movies, and for some reason Spiderman has always just spoke to me. So when I heard that they were producing another Amazing Spiderman movie, I became very excited! In the Amazing Spiderman 2 we see a new super villain arise, Electro (Jamie Foxx). Peter Parker, or Spiderman (Andrew Garfield), must confront all of these new villains that seem to all be linked back to Oscorp, while trying to protect himself, the city of New York, and maybe the most important thing to him, Gwen (Emma Stone).

For all you superhero fans out there I see The Amazing Spider Man 2 to be a fantastic movie. With all the action, adventure, and romance, I can assure you that you won’t be able to take your eyes off the screen.

Mean Girls Ten Year Anniversary!

Yesterday was the ten year anniversary of the hit movie Mean Girls. If you are a girl then you have most likely seen Mean Girls, but if you have been living under a rock and haven’t seen this amazing movie then here is a brief summary. Mean girls is about a normal high school student, Cady, who moves to a typical high school with all the typical Plastic girls (popular girls). This movie shows the drama that all girls face in high school because of trying to look good, boys, and gossiping.

Considering that this is the ten year anniversary of Mean Girls, why has it been so popular, and what has allowed it to stay in the media for all these years. I think that this movie has stayed so popular for so long is because most people can relate to it. Maybe not to the extremes that Mean Girls goes to. This movie faces all the struggles of being a high school girl, such as fighting over boys, trying to impress a certain boy, terrible teacher, and dealing with the popular girls. This movie shows all of the issues of high school in a funny way, that leaves everyone laughing, and quoting the movie for years. I think that this is a great movie and will continue to make young girls laugh for years to come.

Another reason why I think that Mean Girls has been such a popular movie even now is because, the humor from ten years ago, we still find funny. We find all the pranks, jokes, gossip, betrayal, and dumb blondes hilarious, because those types of people are still around today, and we can all relate to them. Even though the movie exaggerates the high school experience, there is still some truth behind the words of the movie. This is why this movie has been so popular for so many years.

The other reason why Mean Girls is so popular, even after ten years of being released, is because the material and lines from the movie are just hilarious that everyone has been quoting them since its first release. Everybody knows at least one quote from the movie, or can even quote the entire movie. Social media sites, such as Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and even Vine, bring back so many incredible lines from the movie, which just keeps them in our minds for days.

I hope that this movie can make it through another decade and still be as popular as it was when it first came out. Mean Girls is truly a classic!
