Duck Dynasty Review

What is the rave about three bearded men making duck calls and doing stupid stuff. Lately the hit show Duck Dynasty has been making people all over the country. Duck Dynasty is a hit reality show on A&E is about the Robertson family, and how they have made millions on their family owner business Duck Commander. Duck Commander started its business selling duck calls, but as the show became more popular everything from Duck Commander Shirts, to beach towels.  The Robertson men, brothers Phil and Si, and Phil’s sons Jace, Willie, and Jep live in West Monroe, Louisiana. These men are known for their long beards and for doing stupid stuff instead of working. This show has broken several ratings records on both A&E and just on TV. The fourth season premier drew 11.8 million views, which makes Duck Dynasty the most watch nonfiction TV show in history.
Though many adore this fantastic show, there are also many critics of Duck Dynasty. Many people think this show is stupid and has no meaning behind it. Some say that the characters are annoying and they should take this show off TV. I on the other hand love this show, with the billions of others. At first I suspected this show too, but after my aunt and uncle showing me this show I too became addicted to Duck Dynasty. The top reason why I love this show so much is because of how funny it is! This show is one of the funniest I have seen lately. Duck Dynasty is so funny because of all the dumb things all the men do. But if you look too much into the show, and take it to seriously then that’s probably why you won’t like the show. Even though this show is extremely funny, there is also a serious side of the family that I also like. The Robertson family is very religious; they take their faith very seriously, praying before every meal. This is why I think that at least the older Robertson’s are very authentic and not just bratty stars. I feel like you see the whole side, and what you see if who the Robertson’s really are. Another reason I like this show is because, the men do stuff that nobody has the guts to do, and I think that people really like that. Courage doesn’t seem to be a problem for the Robertson men, but stupidity does seem to be. I extremely suggest this show to anybody who is looking for a good laugh.

Top Gun Coed Level 4 Performance Review

For this week’s elite cheer review I will review Top Gun All-stars level 4 coed team at UCA Internationals in 2012. Top Gun Cheer is a large gym out of Miami, Florida. Top Gun has many teams and has produced many champions. Recently Top Guns level 5 coed team won worlds, which is one of the highest honors, and championship for any all-star cheerleader to win.
Top Guns performance begins with team standing tucks, and one kick full basket. I see only girl whose hands touch the ground after her tuck. Other than that they all look good. Then Top Gun moves into a new formation and again has team back handspring tuck, that all look very sharp. Next we see an interesting formation transition, with a few girls in shoulder sits and somersault out of it. We see about five girls doing 4 back handsprings with a layout at the end, and the rest doing motions to their new stunt spots.
This is where we see straight up extension heel stretches being done, with a full down at the end. The full downs could use a little work on technique and timing, but other than that, this part of the stunt sequence looks good. The stunt groups then move while in a load in position to a new stunt formation, to where they perform a full up to prep, then pushing it up to extension, where the flyers pull a scorpion to a arabesque, then full down again. To make this stunt sequence harder, and get more points, I would recommend doing a full up straight to an extension, instead of stopping at prep first. This would receive a lot more points and it would look a lot cleaner too. Again a lot of the flyers are kicking out of their full downs, so they need to work on the right technique of a full down.
I am very impressed with Top Guns jump sequence and just their jumps in general. There is a boy on the team, that is front and center who has better jumps then anybody on the team. His jumps are literally amazing because of how hyper extended they are! If you don’t know what hyper extended means, it basically means that his legs revolve up more so that his jumps look like they are going above his head.
Top Gun moves into their basics, but before they do the actual basic they do something funny with the flyers that I don’t particularly like, I personally think it is just a waste of time and space on the floor. The basics look good, Top Gun doing a kick full, they could however be thrown a little higher. The team then moves into their tumbling sequence. All the tumbling looks great, but I don’t think even half the team tumbled, so if I were judging this competition I would probably take off a point for not having the whole team tumble.
For the pyramid we see the two side start of separately on different side, coming in together. I personally love Top Guns pyramid, because of all the flipping and level changes. Plus Top Gun performed it perfectly with only a minor bobble on the left side of the pyramid. But however, when the team moves into their dance formation, I’m not very fond of their dance. I like the level changes, but I don’t really like their dance and how they perform it.
If I were to give Top Gun coed level 4 a score out of 10, I would probably give them a 8 out of 10 because I loved the pyramid, and jumps, but I wasn’t particularly fond of the dance. Also I think that this team needs to work on their full downs and kick full baskets. Top Gun Level 4 Performance

Gossip Girl Series Review

Many people have been fans of the hit television show Gossip Girl. The show Gossip Girl started its first season in 2007, and ended its last season last year. Gossip girl is a hit drama that is based off the Gossip Girl book by Cecily von Ziegesar. Gossip Girl is about the trouble that living on the Upper East Side of New York bring. The Upper East Side is where this show takes place. Gossip Girl is about someone online who is blogging about the lives of 5 friends.
The two main female characters are Serena Van Der Woodsen who is a typical Upper East Side girl that has everything she could ever want, except for a father who can meet her needs. There is also Blair Waldorf, who is best friends with Serena, most of the time. Blair also has a great life, with her mother owning her own fashion line, and having the best boyfriend. Then there are the three main male characters: Dan Humphrey, Chuck Bass, and Nate Archibald. Nate and Chuck are both very rich teenagers that live on the Upper East Side. Dan on the other hand is a poor boy from Brooklyn, who can only afford to go to the Upper East Side school because of scholarships he receives. You would think the life of an upper east sider would be easy, but with Gossip Girl in these teens way, they can’t get away with anything. Since this show was on television for so long, obviously there was a lot of drama. Actually there was so much drama, this is the only reason that the Gossip Girl writers and directors were able to keep their jobs. From breakups, to divorces, to betrayal, you see it all on Gossip Girl. Throughout the entire season, you don’t know who this mysterious Gossip Girl is, that is ruining all these stuck up kids lives. That is until the very end of the last season when it is revealed who the real gossip girl is.
I personally didn’t hear about this show until about a year ago, when I was browsing Netflix. But let me tell you this show sure is addictive. I spent my whole summer watching 5 seasons of Gossip Girl. This show isn’t even that good considering that it’s just about all the gossip and drama. A lot of the drama is really stupid, but the characters are so stuck up that the writers of the show can drag it out for so long. But the producers always leave you not wanting to wait for the next episode. Overall if you like drama, this is the show for you, but if you are looking for something a little more original then I would recommend Gossip Girl.

Now You See Me

A few days ago I watch a really good movie called Now You See Me. This movie was in theaters a few months ago, but just recently came out on DVD and Pay per View.  At first I didn’t think that I would like it but after I watched it, it is probably one of my favorite movies.
Now You See Me is about four magicians that perform magic as a hobby in different parts of the country. One magician specializes in card tricks, one is a mentalist, one is a stunt magician, and the last is a new magician that isn’t very good. All the magicians get a special invitation, leading them to New York City, where they will team up to perform one magic show together. All together the magicians are called the Four Horsemen. These Magic tricks however are not like any magic trick anybody has ever seen before because for their first big trick the Four Horsemen rob a bank. The police get involved and try to take the four horsemen down, but since they are magicians they have no way to prove how they did it. Dylan Rhodes, a detective, gets put onto the case with a French woman to help him. At first Rhodes doesn’t want the women helping him, but threw out the movie gets comfortable with her. Rhodes calls on Thaddeus Bradley, who is a former magician but now works to uncover how popular magicians do their tricks and expose them for what they really are.
This movie was so good because of all the plot twists that happen throughout the movie. You continually think that there has to be someone working with the Four Horsemen, like a Fifth Horsemen ;) but the movie continually makes you think the fifth horsemen in someone else. I remember watching the movie and trying to guess who the fifth horsemen could have been, but every time being wrong. When you watch the movie, if you watch the movie, remember the most important quote from the movie “the closer you look, the less you see”. The magicians show this a lot in this movie because you see the movie from the FBI’s point of view so once you figure out how the Four Horsemen do the trick, and then you figure out how they did it.
I personally think that this movie is also kind of like Robin Hood because the magicians stole millions of dollars from banks, to companies, to individuals, but never kept any of the money! They always gave it to their audience, or framed someone else with the money. Overall however this movie was fantastic and I recommend watching it! However I feel like once you have seen it once, you already know what is going to happen so a lot of the suspense is gone. But others in my family said that they would definitely watch Now You See Me again because of just how good it was! Plus Dave Franco is in it, and he make the movie ten times better! ;)

Miely Cyrus: We Can't Stop Review

When Miley Cyrus first became famous, she was this sweet innocent teenager, acting in the hit Disney channel show Hannah Montana, with her father Billy Ray Cyrus. But Miley is no little girl anymore. Miley has cut her hair, made a new style for her music, and completely changed her look and there the whole music video controversy. Hollywood Life says that Miley is acting out to get our attention or maybe even Liam Hemsworth’s attention, but others say it is just to lose the Disney channel image. Either way Miley’s new We Can’t Stop video shows what the new Miley is truly like.
I personally really do like Miley’s song We Can’t Stop, but I think in the music video she is trying too hard to be a bad girl. Such as with the whole tongue thing, like what is up with that, keep your tongue inside your mouth! Also she tries to hard in this video, how she is always shaking her butt. However I feel like all of the stars these days are doing that kind of thing in their music videos, like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Selena Gomez. Except nobody questions why those people do it, they just go along with it. But with Miley it goes back to her whole Disney image that she used to have.
There are so many peculiar things that happen in this video starting at the beginning, going all the way to the end of the video. Starting with some things that I really don’t understand are things like the big Teddy bears on the peoples backs. What do they represent in this video? Do they mean something special to Miley, or what? Also what is up with the man eating a money sandwich or when the other person was rubbing bread on their face.
I like the part of the music video when Miley and everybody else is in the pool and are jumping into the pool, but I find it extremely weird when Miley starts making out with the doll. A few other things that I find just really creepy are when there are those stuffed dead animals that come into some of the scenes. Such as when one person is holding one, and then another is pulling one on a sled. Also I think it’s really gross when the girl in the beginning of the video fake cuts her fingers off and pink pepnobismol comes out!
Over all just seeing that sweet little Miley Cyrus turn into what happened in the We Can’t Stop music video was very disturbing. But I can’t wait to see what she does in the future, and if she will calm down a little bit.
