Catching Fire

The amazing movie series The Hunger Games came out with the second book and movie Catching Fire. Before the movie even came out, Catching Fire was all the rave, and people waited in line with tickets preordered months in advance to see Catching Fire. Catching Fire is the second book out of the three Hunger Games books. Catching fire takes place right after the Hunger Games where Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark win a surprising victory for District 12. Katniss and Peeta’s surprising end at the end of The Hunger Games left the capital thinking that there would be a second uprising, which started the hunger games in the first place. President Snow is trying to do everything in his power to not let this happen again by making all of the living victors fight it out again until there is only one victor left standing, to ensure that the districts won’t have any leaders if an uprising were to occur, and put a little fear into the people’s eyes.

This movie is probably one of the best movies I have seen in a really long time, and I’m not just saying that because I have read and love the Hunger Games books. The movie is so well put together, and really makes you feel like you know the characters, just like when you are reading the book.  One of the best things about the movie was it was so closely made to the book. The movie is close to a near image of the book. The movie is about as close to the book as a movie could get, which made the viewer’s very happy. I remember walking out of the movie theater after seeing Catching Fire, and everything that people was saying was about how great the movie was, and how close it resembled the book.

Catching Fire had so many great actors in it, which really topped the movie off! One of my favorite actresses Jennifer Lawrence played Katniss Everdeen. Jennifer did a wonderful job playing Katniss that, she really felt like she was the real Katniss and from the book. She put so much emotion and little bits of comedy, which really makes her loved by so many. Josh Hutcherson who played Peeta Mellark, not only is very attractive, but also did a nice job of showing the complicated relationship between his character and Jennifer’s character. Even the small roles in Catching Fire were absolutely amazing. Such as Haymitch, Finick Odair, Gale, and one of my favorite characters from the Hunger Games, Effie Trinket. Effie is so into the capitals styles that sometimes it gets caught up with her when trying to deal with people from District 12. However I have come to like Effie more in Catching Fire because she truly loves Katniss and Peeta, and is so sorry and sad that they have to fight once again in the Hunger Games. Effie lightens the mood of what is really taking place, and is over all great character.

Overall Catching Fire was an amazing book and movie with outstanding actors. I believe that Catching Fire was almost better than The Hunger Games, and with Mockingjay on the way, I'm sure we are in for an amazing Hunger Games experience.
