Top Five Movies of 2013

Top Ten Movies of 2013:

1. Catching Fire
2. Frozen
3. Thor: The Dark World
4. Despicable Me 2
5. The Hobbit

1. Catching Fire is the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy which shows the story of Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark who are targeted by the capital after their victory in the previous hunger games. After the games, a rebellion breaks out in the districts, which was why the games were formed in the first place. So in an attempt to diminish the the rebellion, the victors of previous games are forced to fight to the death once again. Catching Fire is exhilarating because of the fantastic actors who really make you feel like you are in the movie and attached to the characters.

2.  Frozen, a children's Disney movie, recently came to theaters and was a big hit. Frozen is about a fearless girl named Anna teams up with Kristoff, in a dangerous yet epic adventure to find Anna's evil sister Elsa, whose powers have trapped the kingdom in eternal winter. Although I haven't seen this movie yet, I am very excited to see it and plan on writing a in depth review of Frozen.

3. Thor: The dark World is the second movie in the Thor series. I have seen the first Thor movie, and really loved it. I don't know why but I just really like superhero movies, and Thor was the complete package. Thor was action packed and there was a sort of mystery about it. I haven't seen Thor: The Dark World yet but I plan on watching it when it comes out on DVD. Thor: The Dark World is about when Thor's world Asguard is faced with its toughest enemy yet, Thor must embark on his most dangerous and personal journey yet, to save us all.

4. I absolutely loved both of the Despicable Me movies. When Despicable Me 2 came out I was so excited, probably a little too excited. But the movie was worth the humiliation of sitting in a theater with a bunch of seven year olds! Despicable Me 2 takes place right after the first movie where Gru is reunited with the Anti-Villan League to help deal with a new super criminal, but when he is paired with an annoying girl, he doesn't know how much more of this he can take. Despicable Me 2 is hilarious and always had me laughing. From the little girls, to Gru's humor, to my favorite part, the minions, the movie was overall amazing!

5. I have not personally been a big fan of The Hobbit series, but you can definitely tell that is movie and book series was a MEGA hit. The Hobbit is about the epic quest of Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf the Grey to claim Erebor, their homeland, from Smaug. But Bilbo Baggins is in possession of a mysterious and magical ring. I have always wanted to get into this series because of my friends have read the series and said it was great, so I just need to find a good time to start this quest of reading the Hobbit.
